The basic premise of the MU Online game evolves around the war between two nations, El Morad (human), and Karus (cursed human). The conflict between them is not for the land or political agendas, but rather each nation's own survival.
The war began 200 years ago when Patos, the god of destruction, cursed humans by shedding his blood on them. These cursed humans later gave birth to newborns and became the target of hatred. The humans, threatened by the cursed and their newborns, began murdering them to protect themselves and their families. The surviving cursed people eventually escaped from the humans and built their own empire, Karus, in the icy northern lands.
